We would like to thank all the authors for their dedicated efforts to do research on and application of Technology Management as well as related fields. We at IAMOT 2016 are privileged that these authors chose the IAMOT as venue to showcase the progress and applications of Technology Management and associated fields of their endeavours. We also owe sincere gratitude to the truly international panel of 37 reviewers who worked diligently on tight deadlines to provide valuable review advice to authors to ensure high quality papers that were eventually published in the proceedings of IAMOT 2016.

The paper review process followed for the IAMOT 2016 conference was as follows:

  • The “IAMOT 2016 Conference Proceedings” is a peer-reviewed conference proceedings published by IAMOT & The Graduate School of Technology Management (GSTM), University of Pretoria, South Africa, and is a conference of national and international significance having been held in venues around the world for the past for more than 25 years.
  • In order to provide a conference proceedings of high quality, “IAMOT 2016 Conference Proceedings” were guided by the following principles:
    • Full papers included in the conference proceedings were reviewed using at least a single blind peer review process.
    • The papers were reviewed by appropriately qualified and experienced experts that are independent of the authors. In this case more than 37 reviewers were used from 24 Institutions and Universities from more than 10 countries around the world.
    • Paper review criteria included:
      • Technical and/or research content and depth
      • Relevance to the conference topics and/or conference theme (value of the paper to the conference attendees)
      • Correctness and contribution to the field of Technology, Innovation and Management
      • The research methodology or approach followed including appropriate use of citations and references
      • The findings, results or outcome of the research/application/case or industry findings
      • Structure, readability and proper use of the English language
    • Papers and submissions received two reviews appropriately using the abovementioned criteria. This was all done to enhance the value of finally accepted papers for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
    • The editor(s) used the input from all the reviewers to accept or reject full papers.
    • The final papers included in the proceedings also underwent an editorial process to increase the quality of the eventual proceedings.
  • Full papers included in the proceedings are of the Research or Application paper type both with fundamental enquiry or problem definition process underpinning the paper quality.
  • Some abstract submissions for presentation following essentially a similar review process may be included in the proceedings.
